Novak Djokovic won the first set, which lasted 48 minutes, 6-3 and took a 1-0 lead. The second set between the Serbian racket and Medvedev was the scene of great excitement and lasted about one hour and 44 minutes. In the women’s singles final of the tournament held in New York City, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, who has guaranteed to be ranked No. 1 in the world ranking to be updated after the US Open, faced world No. 6 Coco Gauff. The 19-year-old Gauff, who lost the first set of the match played on Arthur Ashe Stadium 6-2, won the next sets 6-3, 6-2 to reach her first victory in the second grand slam final of her career.
