Barbora Krejcikova Rewrote History at Wimbledon: She Never Conceded a Set to Jasmine Paolini in the Final

Barbora Krejčíková faced Jasmine Paolini in the Wimbledon final last Saturday and won the second Grand Slam title of her career by claiming victory with sets of 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. The 28-year-old Czech tennis player, who achieved this great success after the 2021 French Open, competed as the number 31 seed at Wimbledon despite the injuries he suffered at the beginning of this season and won this tournament while having a record of 7-9. Krejčíková became the eighth woman to win Wimbledon in the last eight years, a feat achieved last year by another Czech player, unseeded Marketa Vondrousova.

Her Italian opponent, Paolini, ranked seventh, also achieved success at the French Open, reaching the final and becoming the first female tennis player to reach the final at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon since 2016.
