New Racquet Technologies in Tennis and Their Effects on Performance
The world-famous racquet sports brand Dunlop and the world’s leading chemical company BASF have developed a new technology that revolutionizes the performance of the padel racquet. The new Power Flex technology includes the Infinergy product developed by BASF. For the first time in the world, expanded thermoplastic polyurethane (E-TPU) is being applied inside a padel paddle. Its unique elastic properties and exceptional robustness offer significant advantages in terms of the playability and durability of the racket.
After almost two years of development work by both brands and numerous tests carried out by a team of players and coaches, including world champion Juani Mieres, the first Power Flex rackets were presented as part of the Dunlop Padel Decal 2016 collection.

The partnership with Dunlop allows us to use our knowledge and expertise in a completely new area in cooperation with the Sunday’s leading specialist brand,” he said.
The new Dunlop Blast, manufactured with the new Power Flex technology that provides extra strength, comfort and durability, will be Juani Mieres’ new racket choice on professional courts in the 2016 season.

In fact, cord blood pressure is only one part of the puzzle that determines what stiffness the cordage area makes a player feel. A player normally perceives one of three different cord area sensations: low blood pressure, loose (over-beating or alive); tight (stiff); or dead (his blood pressure has escaped or been “blocked”). Many factors act together in determining the stiffness of the cordage area and, therefore, the player’s perception of strength, feeling and control.
